Ahead of the commemoration of this year's children day in Kogi state, the PDP in Kogi state, has described the Children as light unto the nation's future.

In a statement signed by the party's Director of Media and Communication, Comrade Dayo Onibiyo, the party, sent it's heart warming greetings to children, teachers who takes care of them and particularly the parents and guardians for striving to keep the children in schools, despite hard times under  General Buhari's administration, and that of Governor Bello's Government in Kogi state, it enjoined the parents to redouble their effort on getting thier kids morally and  spiritually trained, as that will help brighten the future of our nation which is currently going through the eye of the needle under APC and with no sign of light at the end of the tunnel.

It also advised parents and guardians to start introducing their children to skill acquisition programmes in combination with their formal education drive, so as to help broaden their horizon and prepare them for the difficult challenges in the labour market. This if done will drive the children towards becoming employers of labour instead of seeking employment later in life, thereby boosting the nation's economy through creating jobs and combating the daily rising hydra headed  employment crisis in the country.

The PDP in Kogi state used the opportunity to call for mass enrolment of more girl child in schools across the state and kicked against paedophilia, which it regrets is still on the increase and should be combated without party lines, *we condemn in totality and in clear terms, the act of rape and paedophilia against the girl child and passionately call on all Nigerians and residents to selflessly join in the campaign against such barbaric, low and satanic act* the statement concludes.

Environmental Right Activist, Onibiyo Oluwasegun has insisted that his call for protection of rights of the environment, particularly, indiscriminate falling of woods in the bush and forests are irreversible.

The activist noted this while addressing some people in his locality, that the falling of trees for timber purposes  and charcoal business are not helping anybody but causing more damages to our health.

He added that, the use of such woods for charcoal is completely illegal and must be discouraged, while saying doing same for timber businesses uncontrolled is a de-service to humanity.

Ordinary, he added that, trees that should have protected our homes, farm crops and help make our land very reach by protecting the soil has been falling for these cheap purposes stated earlier.

He asked that people threatening him on his effort should stop forthwith as it won't yield any fruit.

He asked them to rather join him than be harassing him and using unknown security agents on impersonation or hide identify to come after him, saying that the same way it threatens his existence is the same way it threatens their own existence too, noting that he hardly even stays around often.

He said such illegal and armful activities will not exclude those doing it from it's havoc's when it comes wrecking.

Oluwasegun speaking on the threat of relocation made it clear that, he is not moving an inch from his residence in Ilorin because of same issue which he is advocating, a threat he said he has lodged with the Police authority.
