The Team Ashiru Ashiwaju Thinks (TAAT) saddled with the responsibility of ensuring the safety of Lokoka-Obajana-Kabba as regards the bump issues, today paid an unscheduled courtesy call on the Chairman of Lokoja LGA.

The Team, which commenced the inspection of the road as part of it's On-The-Spot-Assessment before commencing the application of it's design, took time to visit the Chairman, who in his magnanimity received the team, along with the LG Secretary, Supervisors for Education, Revenue and Health.

The team presented the idea and the story behind the effort of the Intervention of the Honourable Commissioner, Mukadam Ashiru Ashiwaju Idiris, who is funding the initiative from his personal coffer.

The leader of the Technical Team, Comrade Onibiyo who spoke on behalf of the team, said the idea was an effort to support the brave and progressive moves of His Excellency, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU), who has shown in less than 100 days, his willingness to ensure that Kogi state, leads in the committee of states. He added that, the team has also embarked on Community engagement for enlightenment purposes has it has started visiting some of the traditional rulers, including the Obaro of Odo Ape, the Obaro of Aiyegunle, while the Oba of Apata, Obajana, Oke Ibukun are said to be out of town and their subjects where engaged, not excluding the subjects of the late Oba of Agbadu. The team, promised to revisit those communities, they have not been able to engage.

In his response, the Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu thanked the team for this initiative aimed at saving lives of the road users, who come from all parts of the world, on their ways to Abuja or far Northern states.

Comrade, Abdullahi, spoke glowingly of the Commissioner for his care for the people and for his love for development issues, revealing his counsel to commence the Lokoja Security Trust Fund project.

He then assured the team, that from Oshokosoko end where his LG begins, he will deplore security team to support TAAT, when it starts it's operations, has he added that from the vehicles given to them by the Governor, they have already deployed two; one to Oshokosoko and the other to the border with the Central.

The team thanked the Chairman for accepting to see them without prior notice, and for his dispaly of maturity and understanding of administration.

A voluntary group of professionals known as Team Ashiru Ashiwaju Thinks, drawn from across Okun land, and made of people who have dedicated themselves and their professional services to providing ideas and generating proposals to support the investment profile and initiative of the State, under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, the State Governor, working through the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Honourable Mukadam Ashiru Ashiwaju Idiris, who is the principal of the group, has confirmed the personal contribution of the Honourable Commissioner.

Announcing the receipt of the money to the Committee on Road Safety matters, the group's Director of Information, Dr Adeyemi Emmanuel, appreciated the Commissioner on behalf of the entire people that ply the road, which links the country and even beyond, as the road leads to both western and northern parts of the country, and directly to the state capital and the Federal Capital- Abuja.

The road came under review by TAAT, due to the many fatalities associated with accidents on the road, which always lead to summersaults, head-on collisions, burning and near zero chances of survival, which the group traced to unmarked and unwarned bumps on the road, which drivers suddenly runs into, which were initially created to also provide safety for road users particularly, within towns along the route.

With this development, the Director of Public Events and Personal Assistant to the Initiator, Hon. Temitope Aro, says the people will henceforth, witness little or no accidents with mild implications on that route and also announced the group's plan for engaging users through an Enlightenment Campaign, which will be held along the route after the completion of the Intervention.

"Millions of people ply that route every month and are people from all works of life and tribes, while the impact of this uncommon care and Intervention by the Honourable Commissioner can not be measured", says a serving Deputy Commandant of the NSCDC, who is also a member of TAAT.

Dr Kabir, a London-based medical practitioner, who is also a member of TAAT is happy with the development and enjoined other Nigerians to emulate this Initiative and donation, coming at a time His Excellency is 100 days in office, as he emphasised, that Government alone, can not ordinarily do everything, he also charged the team to ensure that, an enduring intervention is done and within time.

In conclusion, the Director of Information of the group announced that the initiator of the group will soon brief members of the public on the project, after carrying out its on-the-spot assessment, which is aimed at marrying the design to the reality of the road's shortcomings.
