A nation where TWO PRESIDENTS rules?
- Buhari and Saraki???
I am taking with a rude shock to see the Senate, the red chamber rejecting and returning the name of a nominee the actual President NIGERIANS voted for as transmitted from a President voted for by Kwara Central people and the less than 109 men, over what the Senate CALLED SECURITY REPORT.
I am not shocked because the nominee was rejected, but because, am left to wonder whose duty it is to receive a Security Report in the first instance and in what ORDER.
Seeking help from the lines of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the CEO or at best, still the Chief Security Officer of the Nation, the President, the Governors and the LG Chairmen fills that space.
In the case of Magu and the claim of the Senate to have received DSS report on the former, I am more confused and still wondering if the DSS is first responsible to the Head of State and Commander in Chief of THE Armed Forces or the Senate and it's President? and syntactically in what circumstances.
That confusion would not have arise, if the Senate spokesperson did not say, they are attaching the said "Security Report to the rejected name back to the President of Nigeria!"
Does that now mean, that the President of Nigeria, President Mohammad BUHARI derelicts in his duties by not asking for Security Report on MAGU and others or that the President ignored the report, or he was denied the Report by the suddenly Almighty-DSS? which is why, am so convinced we now have TWO Presidents governing NIGERIA.
Clearly, for the Senate to have a Security Report on MAGU that the President of Nigeria does not have is shameful to the nation and dangerous to the President 'S authority and safety, that could simply mean, the Senate now have superior INFORMATION on Nigeria and timely one than the President does, and by extension, at least for now, the DSS is at the whims and caprices of the Senate, within how many days, because the Senate still asked the DSS to come and explain why it busted the questionable judges, based on what Security Report, not too long.
The Senate as an institution's problem can not be expression through English Language as, it has a Committee on speaking/ Communication, several consultants on PR, a team of carrier officers in communication, and an army of Press Corps and so on, so succinctly, the President does not have the Security Report on MAGU else they will not have to attach it and sent it to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or is the Director General of the DSS now reporting to the Senate President?
This new dimension is very dangerous and calls for serious caution, as I will prefer the red chambers to be bold enough to say, that MAGU was impervious for them to crack on Saraki's TRIAL, if MAGU has backed-down his men, would he have being REJECTED? despite the fact that he is not under trial anywhere, else the office if NSA has got questions to answer!
Let us look at the case of Rotimi Anchor, whose State already released an Investigative Report on and which a case subsists in Court over, they, the Senate, still cleared him, but MAGU without any known case of trial ongoing about him or in any Court of Law is rejected on an assumed Security Report known to the Senate and not the President of Nigeria, who made the nomination in the first instance.
I wish to take a peep into, the fact that, the man before MAGU was corrupt too for trying to investigate Saraki, I mean Lamode, stubborn Danladi of the CCB too is corrupt for refusing to remove himself from the trial of Saraki and now it's MAGU.
Are we saying the Senate and it's President are ABOVE THE LAW of the LAND?
it's sad that several aspects of the Nigerian Constitution requiring reforms are still dragging for 15 yrs or more, but this Senate in less than THREE months attempted to change where the anti graft agency(s) should be, even while the trial of its headman lasts... If not for the recall recently by the Majority leader of the House of Reps on that amendment.
Is it fair too, that a man standing trial already is sitting atop matters of people heading agencies contributing to his trial, TIME WILL. TELL.
