WHEN WILL KOGI STATE AND FEDERALGOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA STOP KILLING PEOPLE ON FELELE ROAD- EFTAI

Enough Of Felele Truck Accident Initiative (EFTAI)

WHEN  WILL  KOGI  STATE  AND  FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA STOP KILLING
PEOPLE ON FELELE ROAD

1.0 COURTESIES
Distinguish  Nigerians, fellow  global road users
from all walks of life, powerful members of the
Press and  those who  care and  value lives. We
salute you all.
2.0 OPENING
For THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVE DAYS (365), from 24th April 2025 to today Tuesday 21st day of April, 2026 we have daily canvassed both Governments of:
1. Kogi State
        under the leadership of:
H.E ALHAJI AHMED USMAN ODODO fca
        and
2. Federal Government of Nigeria
        under the leadership of:
H.E Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR
on the sad occurrences on Felele road, a major road linking ABUJA to the West, North Central, East  and almost from Abuja to several other places, that it is known to have claimed several lives, not to talk of properties.
Let us draw your attention to the fact that between 2024 and 2026, it has claimed not less than twenty (20) students lives, not to mention several hundreds of other lives: lives of final year students, lecturers, workers and children in some instances and several resulting in inferno, where victims are burnt beyond recognition.

Yes, the host state- KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT will come with its not moving and now mere ritual addresses and that ends it as the lucky ones wait again to survive and only hear those now disgusting speeches.

Sadly, the two higher institutions seated at the edges of the road DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to impress on the STATE and FEDERAL GOVERNMENT respectively, for reason unknown to the public, not even this campaign did they join, despite the fact, that we send to them most times, to the immediate past VICE CHANCELLOR of the  Federal  University, Prof. Akinwunmi

2
and to Dr. Usman Ogbo the former Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, all to no avail, NOT EVEN
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, how then do we EXPECT THEM TO RAISE this sensitive issue with the Commissioner for Works or the Governor or the Minister for Works or the PRESIDENT.

Painful, is it to NOTE, that the immediate past Commissioner for Works in the State, Engr. Mohammed Avohi Yusuf  also has the official page of the Ministry of works to receive daily copy of this campaign.

To members of the public who are at the receiving end too, rarely PAY ATTENTION as well. Its all looking like everyone has GIVEN UP or become CARELESS to what they are not better than, at least not than those the road has consumed or incapacitated!

WHO MADE US LIKE THIS?

3.0 THE ISSUES
We observed that, there is serious ROAD USER issue understanding as some riders, particularly OKADAs/ MOTOR CYCLES and TRYCYCLES are just careless entirely on that road, and we embarked on ONLINE DOCUMETATIONS, Documentary and on enlightenment and educative flyer production in almost six (6) languages of Hausa, Ibo, Ebira, Okun, Igala, Pidgin, produced  a few handbills and jingles for them, same as Road sensitization exercises within our reach and resources, as we have no funder. Same as some non perfect Hausa bike riders.

2. The road is sharply steeply from the CRUSHER end of the road, thus AIDING FREE FALL OF MOSTLY OVERLOADED TRUCKS, which are already OPERATING AT ALMOST ZERO BRAKE EFFICIENCY, due to HEAT ON THEIR WHEELS, reducing FRICTION and some without good brakes already, even supported with physical SHOCKING-STOPPER WOODS as the motor boys run after the trucks to stop it or help reduced the gathering speed from the high gradient.

3. Some of the trucks are handed over to MOTOR BOYS LEARNING HOW TO DRIVE and following them to have a taste of the drive as they approach the town, through the town as their IGNORANT BOSSES (DRIVER) think they won’t be able to speed, and unfortunately, due to imperfection and lack of experience to beat the ugly sudden developments therein, they keep crushing both human and vehicles to NEEDLESS DEATHS.

4. Lack of SHOULDERS for vehicles to PARK or NAVIGATE as escape route is another unfortunate situation that aids this dastardly avoidable occurrences.

4.0 SOLUTIONS
(i) We have proffered the following suggestions:
We do not have or claim to have knowledge to solve this problem, neither have we entered into any competition on this matter, other than bring to the table, what we found as way forward to the understudied situations around the AVOIDABLE NEEDLESS DEATHS:

3
1. Closure of the road the heavy  traffic part of the day, but WARNED that its only a TEMPORARY solution pending when the REAL and LASTING SOLUTION will be put in place.

2. We have advised that A DIVERSION IS SET UP BEFORE CRUSHER, where trucks move into a large hanger park to:
        A. Get their truck breaks checked
        B. Get their trucks rested if brake efficiency is still okay
        C. Take a rest before proceeding
        D. Fix the brake fault if any
        E. On the side at entry ro NATACO, a rest point compulsorily.

3. Route Design in the park is slowed curves enough to put a trailer to rest and recover from brake failures arising from heat generated on their wheels. After which, they proceed through the EXIT Gate with SHORT DISTANT to go before exiting Felele road.

4.0 (ii) THE NEW COMMISSIONER FOR WORKS: Bar. Deedat Ozigi
We welcome you onboard and ask you "IF THIS WILL BE OVER IN YOUR TIME? or as inherited, you will KEEP SEALED LIPS BEFORE THE GOVERNOR, MINISTER OF WORKS and pass it on to the Commissioner that will succeed you?"

(iii) THE NEW RECTOR, Kogi Stare Polytechnic, Lokoja. Professor Sanusi Avidime
We welcome you  and ask you "IF YOU WILL SPEAK ABOUT THIS TO THE COMMISSIONER FOR WORKS, THE GOVERNOR, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE NATIONAL BOARD FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION, THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND THE PRESIDENT, AND GET IT SORTED IN YOUR TIME?" or you simply dine and wine with POWERS like those before you and WATCH your STUDENTS DIES before your OWN EYES?
(iv) THE NEW VICE CHANCELLOR Federal University Lokoja Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye
We welcome you  and ask you "IF YOU WILL SPEAK ABOUT THIS TO THE COMMISSIONER FOR WORKS, THE GOVERNOR, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE NIGERIA UNIVERSITY COMMISSION, THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION, THE MINISTER OF WORKS AND THE PRESIDENT, AND GET IT SORTED IN YOUR TIME?" or you just dine and wine with POWER like those before you and just WATCH your STUDENTS DIE before your very EYES!
EYE?

(v) Governor Ahmed Usman fca
Two years gone and many still dying, we humbly ASK, just how MANY MORE INNOCENT SOULS SHOULD BE WASTED before you fix the road? and will you just BOOST YOUR PORTFOLIO OF SUCCESS BY ADDING THE DEATH-ROUTE SOLUTION TO YOUR BREAKTHROUGH?

(vi) President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR
Mr. President, how long will you TURN DEAF HEARS to this solvable problem, when will you direct your MINISTER OF WORKS who is fixing a FLYOVER nearby at KABBA JUNCTION to get the ROAD-TO-GRAVE FIXED? when

5.0 APPEAL TO NIGERIANS
We appeal to NIGERIANS AND ALL ROAD USERS ALL OVER THE WORLD to CRY ENDLESSLY ON KOGI STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO FIX THE ROAD AND STOP UNTIMELY, NEEDLESS AND PAINFUL DEATHS ON THAT ROAD.

People should consider the thousands of STUDENTS using that road and occupy all pages, medium and handles of both Kogi State and Federal Government of Nigeria.

The high ones in the society should also SPEAK THE TRUTH TO POWER ABOUT THESE SIMPLE SOLUTION, which will in turn put MORE MONEY IN THE POCKET OF THE GOVERNMENT and CREATE MORE JOBS, including engaging the PRIVATE SECTOR DEEPLY.

6.0 SUMMARY
To all in POWER with what it takes to:
STOP THESE NEEDLESS DEATHS ON FELELE ROAD,
hope you know you will
ONE DAY STAND BEFORE GOD TO EXPLAIN YOUR ROLES, INCLUSIVE YOUR INACTION?

AND...
for those in the public with the simple power to join this campaign by SHARING and re-echoing it and you are not, YOU WON’T BE EXCUSED EITHER, for NONE THAT IS LIVING, IS BETTER THAN ANY WHO HAVE BEEN KILLED ON THAT ROAD DUE TO OUR COLLECTIVE CARELESSNESS...
