What Happened In 2011, When It Was Supposed To Normally Rotate To Start Again From Mopamuro or Proceed To Yagba East, The Next LGA_

- Where Are These Sudden No Third Term Apostles Resurecting From?

First and foremost, we wish to implore Yagba Sons and Daughters as well as Residents not to be deceived by any self ochestrated noise and distractions, selfishly coined under the campaign for *no third term*, as we ask you to ask them, how may terms the FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPS FOR YAGBA domiciled in YAGBA WEST? and to be sincere when it comes to Mopamuro, how many terms will it spend there?

*What Is 3rd Term?*

Let us start by trying to know and understand what 3rd term is, as regards this case, so we will understand where we are coming from, where we are and where we are headed..

3rd Term could be for an office holder or the ward/ LG/Senatorial he or she hails from, in this context, we mean winning in office for the 3rd time, which can either be *consecutively* or as may be *added* within the same political dispensation .

*Position of the law*

In anyway it goes, the Nigerian Constitution does not limit a legislator, be it Councilor, House of Assembly, House of Reps and Senate to a specific term. In other words, they may be there as long as their people want them to be, so far they vie and win elections.

*Nearer Examples*

For instance, in the case of Senator Smart Adeyemi, he had two consecutive terms in the Senate, Ijumu 2 terms, he went off, Dino came onboard and did 1 term increasing Ijumu's term to THREE and Smart booted Dino out to increase his term to three and Ijumu's term to FOUR.

At that point, Distinguish Senator Sunday Karimi struck, to dislodge Ijumu for Yagba's first term, another case of third term was that of Hon. T.J Yusuf, who was in the Federal House of Reps for THREE straight terms for Kabbabunu Federal House of Reps, while His Excellency, Late Audu Abubakar, was to return and take his 2nd term as a Governor, after Ibro and Wada death came knocking. Today we talk of Igalas' several Terms as Governors, despite the fact that in the case of the Executive Governor or President, they can do more than two terms either as added or consecutively.

In the case of Yagba Federal Constituency, we have experienced Yagba West taking THREE (3) STRAIGHT TERMS of twelve years, where indeed Yagba East took 1 term of four years and Mopamuro also took 1 term of four years.

First it was a straight one term in Yagba land for the Federal House of Representatives 1999, 2003 and 2007, and should have IDEALLY returned to start in Mopamuro again or continue to Yagba East. Sadly, it did not.

TERMS:  *Straight Terms* and *Interjected terms* 

If it does not leave your Ward, or LG or Federal Constituency or Senate, it is a straight term for that Constituency as it was THREE STRAIGHT TERM in Yagba West, which neither Yagba East or Mopamuro has enjoyed.

If we proceed to count the first time T.J Faniyi went in Yagba East plus the 2nd term Leke is running now, then we mean *interjected* 3rd term, which is NOT the same as *uninterrupted straight term* , in between this twelve (12) years, Yagba East was off waiting, as it is ideally their turn, it is only fair that Yagba East take it's three straight term and Mopamuro do same when their time comes, hopefully they will also keep the flag of performance high.

Now, let us recall or shock those who don't know, or pretend not to know, that it was not that there was an agreement to even start in Mopamuro, it was the then almighty leading party, the PDP that sorted it between T.J Faniyi and  Bar. Shola Ojo who TIED (had the same votes) in votes, and there was toss of coin between both, which eventually favoured Hon. Bar. Shola Ojo, hence the tactical understanding to move to Yagba East (by then elders' of wisdom)  where the person he had tied with and had a toss of coin with, comes from and then later to Yagba West.

Do you also know that Mopamuro keeps contesting with Yagba West and Yagba Ewst as did by Funsho Daniyan in 2007 and 2011, they also contested severally, even with unknown (not popular) parties

May we ask, where of course has this *new sanity* emanated ? when it has never happened that only aspirants from a LG ever contested primaries? let us be fair to history, so it can be kind to us.

If we are sincere and truly ready to practice democracy of EQUITY, if we are not going to be trying to shift the goal post after the kick has been taken, all apologies to late legendary M.K.O Abiola, can we come together to AGREE as follows:

1. No other Local Governments  will contest with the LG whose turn it is to take the Rep? Meaning, if it is the turn of Yagba West, no one from either Yagba East LGA or Mopamuro LGA will  contest under any party or as Individual candidate.

2. No LG shall stays more than one term or 2 terms? or 3 terms?

Now you can hear the uproar...

Let me ask, those who suddenly know history than history! where were they in 2007 to 2019 when the House of Reps slept in Yagba West given a straight 12 years? Where were they when their children comes out to contest all the time?

If Aro had gotten it back to back in 2011, it would have been a situation of the first to take a 2nd term and same it would have been for his LGA, now Distinguish Senator Karimi became the first two term House of Reps member in Yagba land, did heaven fall? Did the other two LGAs died? Those who wanted to run then, did they became an albatross to those who are now running? Did they seized to be? These questions and more deserves to be answered.

 *The Fact* 

The idea of shouting abort third term or don't do third term or third term is not allowed is all after thought, unconstitutional, shrude, personalized, parochial and nothing but self deceit, as it is very clear that, *it should ideally have returned to Mopamuro in 2011 to start again, or to Yagba East to continue:* of course, some of us shouted then and they said we are not sincere, that it's because we don't have money, we were told to shut up, that it should start where it ended. Meaning as it ended in Yagba West, it should start there, fine, so it became a *SECOND TERM ISSUE* , and went on to become a *THIRD TERM,* straight!!! or if, it had been Aro or Karimi that was there while it lasted for THREE TERMS, Would that have been an issue? Is it the person? as it is now being personalized?  or mere campaign of calumny.

Are we now oblivious of the fact that Yagba East too waited for those periods of three terms? Now that the two terms will end, what stops Yagba East from taken its own straight third term? *or is the noise about Leke and not the terms* ? Or are we saying that Yagba East has no right to also enjoy a three straight terms? Like Yagba West? Or because Yagba East is in the middle by physical arrangement  and logical reasoning, it can't enjoy the same privilege that Yagba West has enjoined? and Mopamuro will ultimately advance when it gets to them for been at the edge on the other side too? Or should we (Yagba East and Mopamuro) come to agreement that we donate the *THIRD TERM* spent by Yagba West to Yagba West, as they have had it? we need to be careful with history.

 *Pertinent Question Between Self Interests and People's Interest* 

Will Mopamuro collapse in the next four years, if it has to wait for Yagba East to take it's own 3rd Term? The answer is absolute NO. Will the LG seize to be? The answer is verbatim NO. Will there not be even, well and better qualified people to vie for it then? The answer is YES, there would be, if indeed our children are our pride, infact better than those who think age is catching up with them and they must have it now at all cost. Just like that maxim puts it, _the barracks will always remain, _na soja dey go_ dey come_ 

*Exposing The Truth*

We know too well, that the present noise is about stopping Yagba from attaining a greater height in the Federal House of Reps, such as the Speaker's position, which goes to only high ranking members and not first comers, meanwhile the benefits acruing to the Constituency producing the speaker are no doubt enormous, not even with a person like Hon. Elder Leke Abejide who knows how to carry his people along. We are also not unaware of the naked fact that, this is coming from those who don't like the successes  of Leke Abejide and not the term term _wahala_ , what if another person from Yagba East becomes the rep in 2027 and decides to take a second term in 2031?  why did T.J Faniyi attempted to take a second term in 2023?  20 years after he first had it! Below the belt is the fact, that we are aware also, that Elder Leke Abejide's (ELA) closeness to Governor Ododo Ahmed Usman and his support for both his administration and the Governor's 2nd term for the Central to complete their tenure is so annoying to these _accusers of brethren._ 

*Sincerely, Who Will Not?*

When it gets to Mopamuro, am so sure the people there too, will say the two terms has ended and they should start with them (Yagba West- Yagba East - Mopamuro) instead of going or rotating back to Yagba West to go and start again, let us be sincere, will this argument not arise or be advocated?

Is it a crime that Yagba East is in the Middle? Is it a crime that we are the first LGA? We all missed it where we allowed it to stay in Yagba West beyond one terms in 2011!

We are only a lucky people because Karimi refused the THIRD term ticket offered him by the Buhari Mafias, which would have made it FOUR TERMS in Yagba West.

*We Are brothers*

Politics is but a game and shouldn't be a war, setting brothers against one another won't add any value to us as a people and won't stop anyone God has designated for the top, from getting there.

*Way Forward*

This name calling should please stop among brothers, we should be sincere, after all the LG tastes the THREE STRAIGHT TERMS as done by Yagba West, we should return to the drawing board to agree to be running only two terms or one term as it was between 1999 to 2007. 

 *As it stands, only Bar Hon. Shola Ojo can take credit for being credible as he never attempted a second term neither then or after, like T.J Faniyi returned to do in 2019 via a political summersault. God bless Hon. Bar. Shola Ojo for being truly honourable and credible.* 

*Generation Issue*

It is sad that this generation is really not improving on the wisdom of our fathers despite our more educational papers and vast travels. It's really worrisome.

They, the elders could still arrange themselves in orderly manners and bring even those who were not stupendously rich or not rich at all to become LG Chairmen and what have you, we recall that Alhaji Sheu Shagari was just a school teacher, when he became the President of this Country, if it were today, he won't even be a LG Chairnan, save for those who are not competent, not qualified but brought to be used as tools, yes, it's simply a today's idea to "send an idiot to become a public office holder and use him or her, anyways you like and dump.such after". So many are still.slaving happily as we write.

*Ignore The Confussionist Theory*

Yagba people should rise above this self serving individualistic campaigners who want to use LGA to split us, when indeed they have a hidden agenda from personal hates and to slave for someone elsewhere other than Yagba land, just as they scarified us for Ijumu, if not for FGYB who handed the Senate ticket to Karimi, having seen the yarn for Senate for Yagba. 

We should ask them, if they were slumbering or dead in 2011 when it was supposed to IDEALLY rotate back to Mopamuro to start again or to the next LG, which is Yagba East?

*Our Unity Remains Intact In Yagba*

We can not afford to allow anything to disunite us as a great people and we shouldn't cheat ourselves, when it does go back to Mopamuro they will also taste their Third Term and all the other two LGAs, Yagba West and East would be waiting.

No LG will die, expire or become obsolete, except more LGs and wards are crated from them.

 *it and it should be the LG that will be the issue not the PERSONS,* Let them not feed us with poisons against each other, it doesn't have to be *them* as usual, all the time. it as only to be *us* and no matter what, the LGAs will remain, so far government remains, no one is bigger than the other.

*Expectations*

While we warn our fellow brothers of the consequences of hate on their health and the catastrophy of insinuations, panic gear engagement and what have you, we here reassure the good people of Yagba East, that, at the right time, the Leke Organization should please speak, as we are aware that, he is busy working with his people, who told him long time ago, not to be distracted.
